Russia should build a new model of freight road transport in communication with the countries of the European Union. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov during the final board meeting of the Ministry of Transport, RBC correspondent reports.
“This issue must be approached in a balanced way, ensuring both the interests of Russian carriers and consumers of transport services. Including in terms of their cost,»,— he said.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister noted, it is necessary to ensure the transportation of passengers and goods to Kaliningrad in full, despite the restrictions on the part of Lithuania, which are “unprecedented”.
This will require the development of ferry lines, and tariffs for such transportation should not affect the cost of goods for the population and consignees.
“It is also necessary to ensure the availability of air communication with the region for citizens. Airlines are being compensated for increased travel distances,— Belousov emphasized.
